Meet Dana

I founded Northlight so that I could work with students and families to find the best-fit school. With over 20 years of experience teaching at the college level, I bring both deep academic expertise and a personalized, student-centered approach to the admissions process. I am the parent of 3 kids who have attended a variety of San Francisco K-8 independent schools and San Francisco independent and public high schools, including one who is now in college. My own education began at The Brearley School in Manhattan, Harvard-Westlake School in Los Angeles, Kenyon College, and finally at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where I earned a PhD in History. I am a proud member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA) and a will soon hold a certificate in college counseling from UCLA Extension.
